Huxe Shut Down. Here's How to Get Your Daily Audio Briefing Back

By Feliks Gorišek, co-founder of Brifco··3 min read
Short answer

Huxe, the app that turned your calendar, email and news into a daily podcast, shut down on May 28, 2026. If what you miss is a short audio briefing about your day, Brifco gives you that: your calendar, weather, commute and chosen news as a spoken show at the time you set, without reading your email.

If you used Huxe every morning, you lost more than an app. You lost the few minutes where your day got explained to you. Here is how to get that back.

What happened to Huxe

Huxe stopped its service on May 28, 2026. It had been built by former Google NotebookLM developers and opened to everyone in September 2025 (Dealroom). In October 2026, an EU filing showed that Apple had signed a deal to hire some of the team and license its technology (TechCrunch). Huxe is not coming back as an app.

What Huxe users miss most

  • Hearing the day instead of reading it.
  • A briefing that arrives on its own each morning.
  • News about their interests, not generic headlines.

What's different

  • No email. Brifco never reads your inbox. Some people miss the email summaries; many prefer not to give an app access to their email.
  • Your commute is in it. Brifco tells you if a closure or jam is on your way.
  • No live stations or interruptions. Brifco is a focused show about your day, not a 24/7 feed.
  • A subscription after a 3-day free trial. Huxe was free, which is part of why free apps like it disappear.

Other options, briefly

If inbox summaries were what you valued most, an email digest such as Google CC or an app like BriefingAM reads your email. If you already pay for ChatGPT, its scheduled tasks can write you a daily text briefing. For a broader overview, see the best morning briefing apps.
