ChatGPT Pulse Is Gone. Here's a Daily Briefing You Can Listen To

Short answer

OpenAI retired ChatGPT Pulse in June 2026 and moved daily updates into scheduled tasks, which give you text you have to read. If you want a briefing that arrives on its own and that you can listen to while you get ready, Brifco turns your calendar, weather, commute and chosen news into a short spoken show at your time.

ChatGPT Pulse prepared a few cards every morning about your interests and your day. It is gone now. Here are your two realistic paths: rebuild it inside ChatGPT, or switch to a briefing you can hear.

What happened to Pulse

On June 17, 2026, OpenAI said it was "sunsetting Pulse in the next 14 days" and pointed users to scheduled tasks for a daily briefing based on interests, past chats and connected apps (Digit). Pulse had launched in September 2025 for Pro subscribers (TechCrunch).

Rebuilding Pulse with scheduled tasks

Scheduled tasks are available on ChatGPT's paid plans (Gigazine). Ask something like: "Every weekday at 7 am, give me a short briefing: my first three calendar events, the weather, and two news stories about AI and the NBA."

  • Good: flexible, included if you already pay for ChatGPT.
  • Trade-offs: you write and tune the prompt yourself, and the result is text you read on a screen.

If you'd rather listen

Many people liked Pulse but never had time to read it. That is the gap Brifco fills. You pick your topics and outlets, a voice and a host style, and the time and days. Brifco then turns your calendar, the weather, your commute and the news into a short spoken show and sends you a notification when it is ready. Every story names its outlet and links to the original. Brifco reads your calendar only, read-only, never your email.

Brifco reads your day to you in a few minutes: calendar, weather, commute and your news. Now on the App Store.
